What is Social Prescribing?
Social Prescribing is a way of guiding and supporting people to join in ordinary everyday opportunities or groups in their local community. This may help to improve their mental health and wellbeing.
Who is it for?
Anyhone who wants to improve their mental health and wellbeing or is worried about or has difficulties with their mental health.
Do you sometimes feel like this?
I spend a lot of time at home alone and I find socialising difficult. Sometimes I feel low and have few friends. I feel like my anxiety and worry is taking over my life. I feel like i need some support and guidance. I just need to get out of the house and i need someone to listen.
What can be prescribed?
A few examples:
- College courses
- Local clubs and groups
- Self Help book prescribing
- Computerised Cognitive Behavioural Therapy
What sort of support is available?
We provide support at whatever level you require. We can meet with you regularly and work on an action plan to help you to improve your mental health and wellbeing. We can give you details of what is available and go with you to find out.
